Presidents farewell and future plans for WPN
Hey Neighbors,
I hope this email brings you lots of smiles and good vibes. I want to share some big news that's close to my heart.
I've decided that 2024 (if you will have me again) will be my last year serving as President of the Williams Park Neighbors Association (WPN). It's been a great journey serving as your President, and I'm beyond grateful for having had the chance to be a part of this wonderful community in a big way.
I took on the role of President in late 2018, with big shoes to fill by Keith Bentley and company who did an incredible job. A few short months later we began dealing with this new thing called COVID which really doubled down on the challenge of keeping our long standing association thriving.
I believe my best contributions to our community have been:
Our new website.
Automated membership.
Traffic Calming wins by way of working with the City - and completing the vision set forth by those who came before me.
Keeping in tact our time honored traditions as best as possible while navigating the challenges laid out by and from COVID.
A special thanks to Emily Devane – the “sole survivor” of the previous regime who stuck it out becoming the other half of our dynamic duo. Small but mighty, we kept it together ☺️.
It’s the plan that Emily and I ride off into the sunset together.
What’s next: Jim Duelmer plans to step up in a big way:
He will be coming on as Vice President in October 2023.
Will take over as President (if you will have him ☺️) in October 2024.
I will transition to President Emeritus for one year at that time as well.
Jim has a true passion for our community, and over the next year, we'll be working together closely to ensure a smooth transition. I look forward to him bringing in fresh ideas and his own unique spark to lead our association forward.
I want to take a moment to thank each one of you for being a part of this great journey. Our accomplishments together have been nothing short of awesome, and it's all because of the fantastic community we have.
The bottom line: The future looks bright, and I'm excited to see what's in store for WPN. Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your President for the past five years.
