Our very own Liz Davis awarded Lady Bird Johnson award

We are so excited to share that our very own Liz Davis has been recognized on a National level as a recipient of the Lady Bird Johnson award. Liz & Ron Davis are so very near and dear to many of our hearts in Williams Park. It was the two of them who founded Williams Park Neighbors way back when and who are both still very active in our neighborhood and community. It’s really fun that Liz is now getting well deserved attention (even though she hates attention) on a National level. Wow Liz! We are so proud for you. Please enjoy the announcement from Keep Smyrna Beautiful below.

Keep America Beautiful has named longtime KSB board member Liz Davis as the recipient of the 2022 Keep America Beautiful Lady Bird Johnson Award.

The award recognizes an outstanding volunteer with at least 10 years of service in helping their local community become cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. Davis has been on the Board of Directors for Keep Smyrna Beautiful for almost 20 years and recently stepped down as Chair of the Board after 10 years in that role.

“For the past 17 years, Liz Davis has worked tirelessly to fulfill the mission of Keep Smyrna Beautiful," says her nominator Julie Barwig, executive director of Keep Smyrna Beautiful. "She is an active and service-minded volunteer, who can be found doing everything from coordinating our largest fundraiser to volunteering at document shredding events. As a way of life, she models for KAB affiliates the way to be an effective servant-leader.”

Liz will be recognized next week at the national Keep America Beautiful conference in Washington, DC. Read more about the KAB awards.
