Meet your City Council Representative: Travis Lindley

This edition of Meet Your Neighbor is a special one. While our new Ward 3 representative, Travis Lindley, doesn’t officially live in WPN, he is an important part of our neighborhood. The city elections recently wrapped up and we have a new Mayor and a new City Council Representative. Williams Parks is Smyrna’s oldest neighborhood and we are proud of our history and strong community involvement.

Travis is a second-generation Smyrna native and very familiar with the city. He’s lived here more than 45 years, grew up in Ward 3 and now lives in Concord Lake Village. Travis stays busy with owning and managing three local businesses including an associations management firm, a regulatory compliance company, and a healthcare government affairs practice.

When he’s not busy in city council or at work, you can find him and his family out and about in the Smyrna community. They enjoy gardening, walking the dogs, visiting friends, or dining at one of their favorite local restaurants: Mezza Luna and Atkins Park.  On a weekend away, you might find them traveling up to the North Georgia Mountains.

Travis decided to run for city council to “see Smyrna continue to grow and also continue to be the community we want it to be.” He believes in being “good stewards of our community and thinking of the big picture as we ponder growth and economic development. There is so much opportunity to move Ward 3 forward – from transportation calming, smart growth, constituent needs and maintaining a high level of city services.”

He says “the campaign was a great experience and I’m proud of the campaign effort and the race we ran. I’m thankful to my campaign steering committee; they are a great group of community leaders – WPN leaders as well: Ron and Liz Davis, Lem Ward, JD and Leanne Fey, Keith and Susan Bentley, and Rob and Christie Allen. I could not have done it without them.”

As Ward 3 representative, Travis’ goals for Smyrna include the following:

  • Maintain High Levels of City Services for Residents

  • Smart Growth & Economic Development

  • Accountable Local Government

  • Focus on Smyrna Schools

  • Ensuring Our Community is Safe

  • Address Traffic Congestion and Traffic Calming

Travis is committed to serving Smyrna and the residents of Ward 3. I asked him how we, as a neighborhood, can get involved and be part of the dialogue. Travis said, “I welcome updates, concerns, ideas and suggestions on what we can be doing to better Ward 3. I look forward to attending civic meetings, like the Williams Park meetings, and many more to know what all is happening in the Ward. I plan to hold Town Hall meetings and there will be Ward newsletters. Bottomline, I want and need to hear from the constituents of Ward 3.” Neighbors, let’s welcome Travis as our new City Council Representative and work together to keep our neighborhood, and the Smyrna community, a great place to live.
