WPN Happy Hours
One of the best things about WPN are the friendships made within our community. Our monthly Happy Hours are a great place to meet new people, see old friends and eat delicious food in a fun and casual atmosphere. It is a testimony to our neighborhood that we have been hosting these shindigs every month without fail ever since 2006! Held on the third Friday of every month at a WPN household, neighbors bring an appetizer to share and their drink of choice to catch up with neighbors. We are very grateful to have such wonderfully active members and would like to extend a hearty Thank You to each and every host!
Our June Happy Hour was hosted by Robert Harrison at the Old Smyrna Firehouse. We are especially grateful for Robert, since he volunteered when we had a last minute cancellation. Everybody enjoyed seeing his artwork and gathering around the real fireman's pole that connects the upstairs with the downstairs.
In July, we gathered at the Gilbert St. home of Cara and Patrick Thurman. Neighbors really enjoyed their beautiful waterfall pool while sharing delicious appetizers and snacks.
On August 16th, Jim and Tracie Duelmer were pleased to welcome neighbors into their home. It was their second time hosting the WPN happy hour, but it had been almost 12 years since they had last hosted, so neighbors were excited to see the recent home renovations made by Tracie. There was a great crowd and the Williams Park Neighbors filled their home with both appetizers and fellowship.
Last week, people met at Wendy and Tony Graves' house on Marston St. We even got some new faces—both to the neighborhood, and to Happy Hours in general—to stop by, which was a real treat. By all accounts, it was a great evening!
We hope everyone will consider joining us at our upcoming events:
October 18th at Linda McElveen's house, November 15th at the McIlvor's and and December 20th at the MEMO's very own Emily DeVane's house!
