Good to Know

The City of Smyrna's web site (www.smyrnacity.com) has a wealth of information about your new city, and the site is easy to use. City Hall is located at 2800 King Street. The information number for the city is (770)434-6600.  Please take a few minutes to check out all the recreation opportunities and services offered.

The Sanitation Division's number is (770)431-2850. Call this number to find out your garbage pick-up day or to request service including delivery of a blue recycle bin. City ordinance (86-31.1) states that trash cans should be on the street no earlier than 6pm the day prior to pick-up and removed from the street no later than 9pm the day of pick up. Recycling is picked up by a separate truck on the same day as household garbage.   Yard waste such as leaves, grass and small yard clippings may be placed in a paper bag for pick up on Wednesday. Place paper bag at curb for pick up before 7am on Wednesday. On weeks having a holiday, there will be no yard waste pick up-just household garbage. Check message line of your utility bill for messages about holiday pick up schedule.

Please check the recycling site on the city's web page for what is and is not recycled via curbside pick-up in Smyrna. The main item not picked up at curb is glass, but glass may be taken to Smyrna’s new recycling center. Call (770)431-2869 if you have any questions.

The Smyrna City Library is located at 100 Village Green Circle (770-413-2860). Our library is the oldest city operated library in Georgia. City of Smyrna residents may receive a library card free. Check out the great books, programs and art exhibits.

Information about parks and recreation may be found at the Smyrna Community Center 200 Village Green Circle (770-431-2842) or on the city's web page. Concerts, classes, meetings, exercise, pools and more!

Williams Park has 3 parks which ALL have poop stations for our wonderful dogs. Please find and use the poop bags provided or use your own! Williams Park is the small park on Roswell Street where you can see our wonderful pergola designed and built by one of our neighbors. Durham Park located on Spring Street at Anderson Circle is a great, shady place to walk and includes four rain gardens installed by WPN as a neighborhood project. Whitfield Park is midway down Whitfield Street and has playground equipment and a picnic table.

Williams Park is zoned for Smyrna Elementary School, Campbell Middle School and Campbell High School.
